Celebrating 80 Years in Hoboken — and What’s Next for Stan’s

To Our Valued Customers,
What an incredible few days it has been.
Since sharing the news that we will be closing our Hoboken retail storefront after 80 years, we
have been overwhelmed by the response. The stories, photographs, memories and kind words
shared by generations of customers have reminded us just how fortunate we are to have
occupied our tiny slice of Hoboken for so long.
But we also want to make one thing very clear:
This is not where the Stan’s story ends.
In many ways, we simply outgrew where it began.
Our 1,400-square-foot Hoboken storefront was home for 80 years, but it could no longer
contain the business Stan’s has become. Our primary operations moved out of Hoboken more
than a decade ago, and for the past five years, our headquarters have been located at our much
larger, full-scale facility in Boonton.
Today, Stan’s continues to grow as a full-service sporting goods and authorized team dealer,
serving schools, teams, municipalities, businesses and organizations throughout New Jersey and
beyond.
For our customers, it is business as usual.
The same people are here. The same services are here. Your existing orders, online stores,
programs and relationships with our team remain unchanged.
And as Stan’s continues to grow, so does our ability to provide the products, service and
capabilities our customers have come to expect from us.

Many of our customers already have our Boonton address on file, and updated documentation
will be provided as needed throughout the transition.
Closing the Hoboken storefront is certainly bittersweet. It was more than a place of business to
our family. We grew up there. Generations of customers grew up with us there. It gave Stan’s
its name, its reputation and the foundation upon which we were fortunate enough to build
everything that came next.
We will always be Hoboken proud.
But after 80 years, the best way to honor what was built there is to make sure Stan’s continues
to evolve, grow and serve the next generation of customers. Closing the retail storefront allows
us to do exactly that.
Whether you walked through our doors decades ago, placed one small order with us, or trust
Stan’s year after year to outfit an entire organization, thank you. Every one of you has played a
part in allowing a small family sporting goods store from Hoboken to become the company we
are today.
We are incredibly fortunate to be able to write this next chapter.
